HR Business Partner (Part-time)

Auckland | 15 hours per week | Office based

We are looking for a part time HR Business Partner to manage the day-to-day delivery of HR services and provide practical, hands on advice across the employee lifecycle. This is a vital role focused on ensuring our people practices are consistent, compliant, and deeply aligned with our organisational values.

This is not a junior role. You will need the maturity and confidence to have robust, practical conversations with leaders, balanced with the curiosity and openness to learn and grow into a broader HR leadership role over time.

You will be partnering with managers on day to day people matters. As required, you will provide practical HR advice across performance, conduct, and engagement supporting employee relations processes with confidence and care. You will be a visible and trusted HR presence in the Auckland office.

You will have solid experience in a generalist HR role with a strong understanding of employment law. Essential is having confidence, sound judgement, and life experience bringing a collaborative and pragmatic approach. You must be available to work three days per week in our Auckland office.

This is a flexible part time role with meaningful responsibility. You will get exposure to business transformation and future focused initiatives, providing a clear opportunity to grow into a more senior HR practitioner over time.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE

A long established and growing company with offices in New Zealand and Australia, we are a leading supplier of books to schools and libraries across Australasia, providing a shelf ready service to our school and public library customers in New Zealand.

Following a recent internal promotion, we are seeking a part time Business Development Representative (25 hours per week during school terms) to join our team based in our Glenfield office on Auckland’s North Shore. 

The primary focus of the role is to provide demonstrations of our interactive book website for schools (www.wheelersbooks.co.nz) to drive sales growth. Participating in relevant school association conferences and interacting with school librarians and teachers is also an integral part of the role. 

Wheelers is committed to supporting schools in their essential role of nurturing a lifelong love of reading, therefore developing relationships to maintain current school accounts and build partnerships with new schools are critical success factors to the role. 

Experience in the book selling industry, publishing or the education sector is preferred.

Remuneration will be a competitive salary, plus sales bonuses and business expenses will be reimbursed.
