Meet The Team

At Wheelers, we’re proud of the people who make everything happen. This space is dedicated to celebrating the amazing teams across our wider Wheelers family.

Get to know the friendly faces behind the scenes - what they do, what they love outside of work, and of course, their favourite books.

Because at the heart of Wheelers, it’s all about people (and great reads!).

Selection Team

Left to Right

Lynnette New, Children's and Teen literature Selector

Lynette loves gardening and going on Sunday drives to explore new and interesting places. She really enjoys spending time at the beach on sunny days - swimming / walking / relaxing and on rainy days Lynette enjoys board games and jigsaw puzzles; and, of course, sitting in a comfy spot reading a good book - rain or shine :-) Lynette’s favourite is The Phantom Tollbooth, by Norton Juster.

Sarah Menzie, Selector, Adult Fiction

There are far too many books and authors to choose from but Sarah has been able to pick The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver as a favourite. In her spare time Sarah enjoys seeing friends, reading, watching movies, and generally being outside (wherever there are trees around her).

Annette Hugill, New Zealand, Māori and Pasifika Specialist and Selector adult non-fiction

Rosemary Tisdall, Selector CYA

But she shares two, oldies but goodies, one local and one not - The Runaway Settlers by Elsie Locke (NZ) and Frindle by Andrew Clements. Rosemary loves spending as much time as possible with the four grandies. As well as travelling, and reading.

Margot has found it very difficult to choose just one book, but shares that Who Will Run the Frog Hospital by Lorrie Moore is favourite. In her spare time Margot likes to drink tea on the porch and listen to her friends. Or sit on a windy hill and watch her dog run after birds.

Fleur Mulgrew, Adult Fiction Selector

Fleur’s favorite book is "The Bone People" by Keri Hulme, and in her spare time she paddles Waka Ama, loves ocean swimming and tinkering on projects around her house.

Rose Wilkinson, Selector Adult Non Fiction

Rose’s favourite book (because she keeps re-reading it) is Eckhard Tolle's The Power of Now. All year round, Rose swims daily in the ocean and she is also a trail angel for Te Araroa trail walkers, allowing them to camp in her garden.

Gail Daley, Selector Adult Fiction & Graphics

Sienna Anning, Children's and Young Adult Selector, Teacher-Librarian (Photo to be supplied)

In her spare time Sienna likes to read, and spend time with her family and friends.
